Roma, Doumbia turns down offers from China & Turkey: striker wants to join Basel

After a half a season at Newcastle, Seydou Doumbia is looking for a new team. Roma still owns the rights to the striker, but he will not return to Italy's capital. Doumbia has turned down offers from China, Turkey and Mexico and is determined to sign with Basel- there will be a formal negotiation between Roma and the Swiss club starting in the next few days. On a related note, Roma has also decided to redeem the rights to Norbert Gyomber from Catania- the defender born in 1992 will be part of the giallorossi's long term plans.
