In recent minutes the transfer between Steven Nzonzi and Al Rayyan has been unstuck. The ex-Roma midfielder will arrive at the Qatari club (the new club of James Rodriguez) in the coming hours. The official announcement could arrive on Tuesday morning.
The Frenchman will sign a two year contract for €3 million, including cost of living bonuses.
Roma is set to recieve no fee for his sale, but they can write off nearly €5 million net wage figures corresponding to the midfielder's contract which was through June 2022.
The issues faced on Monday were allevieated by the player's entourage, facing Tiago Pinto's firm stance to not pay the separation payments requested.
The agreement between the sides was found with the payment of Nzonzi's wages through August, the end of Italy's transfer market, but not beyond that. His agents had initially asked to receive around half of his wages for the season in progress, but that was a non-starter.
