Ranieri: "Roma have sold their most important players, they have to start over now"

Claudio Ranieri has talked this morning to Radio Anch'io Sport, focusing on Roma's negative moment as he knows the team and the atmosphere well. He's immediately defended Di Francesco: "DiFra is one of the best young coaches we've got in Italy. He's done incredible things. Three players, who were Roma's spine, have been sold for economic reasons and the team now seems lost but I trust him. Roma has done what they could do in the transfer window but they now have to start over".

Ranieri has then talked about the differences between Rome and Florence, two passionate places but different from each other: "Fiorentina has changed a lot. They're making young players grow and focus on them. Florence is no Rome though".

"We need to give some time to the team and the club to do right. What I could say to DiFra is to continue to work and try to get his players to understand his ideas, especially the younger ones". Ranieri then talks about Serie A, with Juve now competing in Italy but also in Europe: "I think that it's a good level league. Slowly but surely, the teams that didn't start off well got back on their feet. Juve are doing everything they can to win the Champions. It's out lighthouse in Europe. The important thing is to do well in Europe because you can only evaluate a league's level like that".

He's also talked a bit about Sarri's Chelsea: "They have a good team. I've watched some of their training sessions in London. I could see there's a great atmosphere and the players follow him. They'll fight for the title".
