A spectacular career, under the PSG, Barcelona and Inter, among others, jerseys. Many trophies and some yellow cards that testify about a big grinta. Thiago Motta has now begun his new life as U19 PSG youth team coach. He's been interview by Le Parisien after his first game won 4-0 against Saran.
"What playing style do I want to offer? A collective one. I want the ball to circulate, to get the opponents moving and get spaces. When we have the possession of the ball, I ask my goalkeeper to be the first attacking player and my striker to be the first defender when we don't have it. It's not a style so different than the one I had when I was playing.
Does it look like Laurent Blanc's football? Yes, it's true. He's been very important, I was very well with him. His training methods really impressed me. Am I quiet on the bench? Depends of the moment, also depends a lot of my players. I have to be an exemple for them now. I ask them not to talk with the referee and only focus on playing football. It's the coach who has to concentrate on him. Do I miss the pitch? No, I'm happy that way. When you take part in the training session with the players, it's only to show them what you want from them. How long will I be here? I'm enjoying it for now, I don't know. I'm 200% focused on my position".
