There appear to be roadblocks in Juventus' move to acquire Javier Mascherano from Barcelona. After meeting with the defender's agents, the club has reversed course and decided not to offer Mascherano for sale. So Juventus, even if the player had desires of leaving, may no longer be a destination. It appears to be a precautionary move for the blaugrana, intending to hold on to a key player in the event of another departure -- Neymar, and his release clause (220 million Euro for a player with two contract years remaining) that could be triggered, perhaps by PSG, or even either Manchester United or Real Madrid too, before the end of the summer window.
