It communicated the decision through their official website to present a formal request to the IFAB and FIFA to introduce VAR starting from the 2019-2020 season. At the moment, the technology is being used in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup. The benefits were recognized during the testing in these competitions and the Premier League decided to make the changes.
