After a very rough experience at Valencia, Cesare Prandelli has finally given his first interview since the inevitable resignation:
"It made no sense to keep going so I left" - he says to Gazzetta Dello Sport - "I'm leaving with my head held high and with the knowledge that I did all I could. I leave both happy and sad because it is a dream that comes to an end. I knew I accepted a tough challenge but I came convinced I could help Valencia to come out of these hard times, unfortunately, it was not so. The club is made of respectable people but they are attached to numbers, whilst football is passion. In Singapore they promised me they would strengthen the team. Peter Lim was with me and decided to put everything on Zaza who was meant to join on the 27th after the holidays. On the 29th Zaza wasn't there still, but that's not all: the same day the club asked me to choose between a midfielder and a striker. Ignoring that they had promised me 4 signings".
