After playing and scoring his side's only goal in the 1-1 draw against Lazio, Cristiano Ronaldo was called up by Portugal coach Fernando Santos for the friendly game versus Andorra and the Nations League fixtures against France and Croatia. The Portuguese forward was forced to leave the pitch with an injury to his ankle durring the match versus the Biancocelesti, however he has fully recovered from the problem, as revealed by coach Santos.
"He [Ronaldo] didn't complain about the problem to his ankle, he knew it was nothing too serious. He trained with the squad, he is available and will play for sure. Cristiano wants to play all the time and win every game, every minute, every second. He would never leave the pitch. He is the best player in the world and he is the major leader of Portugal national team, his teammates follow him and he is a role model for them", Santos said in the pre-match press conference.
