With the Champions League final set for next Saturday at the Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino hopes to take the Spurs to new heights with a victory. He spoke on the upcoming match and his future with the club during the media day prior to the final against Liverpool.
"Today there's nothing more important than our nearest future. We can make history, our history, and give our fans the greatest joy that exists in football. Thinking about things that regard just an individual is unfortunate, I'm not important: there are bigger things. We're 200% concentrated on the final, we'll have time to talk afterwards. I'm enjoying this moment: in the final week we worked a lot and well, we're aiming to play one of the best matches possible. It's an important goal for this club, a project different from the others."
On the challenge against Klopp: "We cannot prepare ourselves for a Champions League final by watching games from months ago. It's a situation in which we've never found ourselves before and we're going to make ourselves ready, without thinking about the matches at Wembley or Anfield. It won't be 'Pochettino versus Klopp' or a tactical battle, it'll all be based on emotions."
