Gerard Pique did not mince words as he defended his teammates against the boos received by Barcelona in their last match at the Camp Nou. The center back is facing a difficult period, "For a month and a half we have not been playing the football we are accustomed to playing. We must return to playing at our previous levels. We can still win all three competitions we are participating in even though it will be very difficult in the Champions League."

However, Pique did not appreciate the reception which fans gave in their last outing: "I can understand discontent, but I disagree with the way they have expressed it. Those who jeer us have a short memory. With our current coach, we have won eight out of ten titles. When we win everyone celebrates, but also when we lose. Luis Enrique? When he arrived here we were in a very bad position. I would like it if everyone acknowledged the work which he has done with us and all he gave as a player. We will support him until death. This team still has a lot to give."

He then left a message for the fans: "We can still compete. In La Liga we will have the possibility to win until the very end. In Champions I ask for the fans to support us. Furthermore, we have reached the cup final against Alaves, and I hope that we can win."
