In a surprise development, Paris St Germain have joined the race for Leandro Paredes. The French club have in fact presented an official offer of €35 million to Zenit to acquire the former Roma midfielder. On the other hand Chelsea, who appeared to be ahead in the race, have yet to make a concrete bid to the Russian club.
Paredes came through Boca Juniors academy prior to joining Roma in 2013, during his time in Serie A he also played a season on loan at Empoli at the time that Maurizio Sarri coached the Tuscan club. Chelsea’s manager would like to be reunited with him, since joining Zenit last season, Paredes has appeared in 61 games in which he scored 10 goals to go with 15 assists.
