Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini, has just returned to Sicily to plan for the future of his club: “We have already found the backbone of the team, we’d like 6 or 7 good players to join”. Palermo looks on to the mercato, with special attention to the players who are set to pack their bags and make the club a large sum: “I’m in contact with Tottenham for Vazquez and I requested 25 million for him”. The president has absolutely no intention of lowering his request. “I received some lower offers for Vazquez but he’s worth as much as Berardi. He’d be great wherever, I don’t know why he’s so underrated and I don’t know why. He’d be good at Leicester, Milan and Roma made were interested but if I see Berardi going for 25 million then I’d take Vazquez”. The president also said that Lazaar would move away from Sicily.
Coming in however Palermo looks to strengthen their midfield: “two very good midfielders will join up with those that we already have”. The patron then went on to announce that Embalo was coming back from Brescia whilst he dismissed any Valdifiori approach. In Palermo’s offensive repertoire there could be some interesting arrivals: “I have no idea who Rosales is. We are signing the striker that won the capoccannoniere trophy in Croatia (Nestrovski) as well as another important striker”.
