Palermo, Maurizio Zamparini resigns as club president

Maurizio Zamparini and Palermo are parting ways today. The Sicilian club announced that Zamparini has resigned as president and that in the span of a few weeks his successor will be announced. Palermo is currently negotiating the sale of the club with a group of Anglo/American investors, in the announcement of Zamparini's resignation Palermo also indicated that the new owners have committed to building a new stadium and bringing the club to European competitions in the next 3/5 years.
