Padova and Juventus have a connection dating back to the 90s when both Del Piero and Di Livio shined playing for the Old Lady after an experience with Nereo Rocco’s former club. And now that Padova are back in Serie B, they’re looking to a former highly rated Juventus prospect as an ideal addition to Bisoli’s squad.
Padova have identified Luca Marrone as the player to elevate their midfield now that they’ll play in Italy’s second division. The biancorossi’s sporting director Zamuner will find out if there are the financial margins to bring Marrone to the Euganeo stadium. Last season Marrone appeared in 32 matches for Bari, should he sign with Padova he’ll be able to keep playing in Serie B.
