Sampdoria have been winning 5 times in a row at home and the league's ranking can make their fans start dreaming. Their sportive director Carlo Osti has talked to Radio 1 during Radio Anch'io lo Sport about his team's good moment: "They way we perform at home, in front of our amazing fans, is excellent. We've only lost away games against Inter, a strong team, and against Udinese in particular circumstances where we've been playing at 10 after a few minutes. We're Sampdoria though so we've got to improve one Sunday after another to get to the highest we can. We've got a lot of young players that want to grow and older ones that want to help them".
Many credits go to Marco Giampaolo: "I can say we've started this season well, having worked for a year with Giampaolo is really positive. The team has a great playing organisation, we've got strong automatisms. I found Giampaolo when he was Adriano Buffoni's second at Giulanova, who told me a lot of good things about me. I brought him to Treviso with Ammazzalorso as his assistant. He didn't find the right club before, he still has to improve some aspects and Sampdoria is the cut for size club for him. It's an amazing club that allows you to produce the football you want like in a laboratory, you can prove systems, you don't have the pressures of a big city club and you can work with important players". A big work that has brought a lot of clubs to monitor the coach's methods... And his situation: "He's understood how important Sampdoria is to him, he'll think twice before leaving when an interesting offer arrives".
Osti then talks about the transfer window, started from who left Genova: "Skriniar is really strong, he's great physically. He's also got great pace even if he's not the fastest in the first meters. He knows how to control the game, he's already a top player at his game".
"We know better how to value the Eastern Europe's markets, like Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Serbia and Poland. We've had the possibility to see many great players in Poland too, they work a lot and train to get better - speaking about Linetty, Bereszinsky and Kownacki - they've got great technical skills too". In the end, about Torreira and Quagliarella: "We've already talked a lot about Torreira's clause, about Quagliarella Ferrero has always said that this group will get to 2018 and we'll then make valuations. The transfer window will only concern summer 2018".
