After a successful career in Italy that saw him join both Juventus and Milan, Antonio Nocerino completeted his career in the United States. The Italian midfielder discussed his experience in MLS during an interview with our editor in chief Gianluca Di Marzio:"Everything started with a phone call with Kaka'. I played six months with him here (in Orlando) and we got along great. Before I came here I also got a call from Washington DC, but the conversation with Ricardo completely convinced me"
Nocerino is now focused on his coaching career, he discussed the current level in America:"The youth level here isn't advanced when it comes to knowledge, we are missing the foundation: technique, position of the body, reading the game. It isn't easy, but there is great potential. There's a need for managers who can teach these things. There are numerous interesting players like Rodriguez on Los Angeles FC, he's impressive. He has quality, he has speed and has technique. His team is one I like the lost, there are also Vela and Rossi"
Nocerino was asked about Josef Martinez:"He was young when he was at Torino, now he makes a difference in America. You also need luck and the confidence of the managers to give your best. He has found continuity, MLS isn't advanced technically but physically it's not easy to play in it"
