Matija Nastasic had already played in the Premier League at Manchester City as well as in Serie A for Fiorentina before joining his current team Schalke. The talented center back had been dealing with injuries in the past few seasons, but is returning to form- he spoke to GianlucaDiMarzio.com about his current season:"We started poorly this season, the first five matches were a disaster. But now everything is improving, every day we feel more confidence and we're recuperating our mental energy. Let's hope that at end of the season we can say we did well. Because of the injuries I had a difficult period, but now I want to make up for time lost and I'm motivated"
Despite only playing one year in Italy, Nastasic spoke fondly of his time there:"I was in Italy just one season, it's true, but I always felt at home. You never know, maybe a day I could return there. I aalways enjoy watching Serie A and I strongly believe it's a great league. I unfortenately haven't stayed in contact with many former teammates, because in the past four years everything changed
