Napoli’s transfer moves: the situation

Napoli is in the process of building a squad that can be competitive in Italy and Europe simultaneously. The first objective of the summer is to bring home Hector Herrera with Napoli relentlessly negotiating with Porto whilst the player is on duty for Mexico. The Copa America could work against Napoli because if the player continues to put on impressive performances Porto will become more rigid in their request. Porto is now asking for 20 million plus easy to reach bonuses. Napoli doesn’t want to go over 18-19 million total. Liverpool is now serious opposition for Napoli in the Herrera race, and is beginning to create a disturbance. Napoli hopes to strike a deal through the player’s will as the Italians and Herrera already have a deal.

In defense, Napoli has made an offer for Fabinho and the final assault for the player is expected next week. Monaco and Napoli could also meet soon. Club is also still interested in Widmer, but Roma is also on the player’s trail. Same situation for Zielinski: Roma is on the player’s trails and this complicates Napoli’s negotiations a whole lot. Last but not least, the club continues to work to obtain Gianluca Lapadula. But a deal can only be struck after Trapani-Pescara which will determine which club will be playing in Serie A next season.
