Napoli's chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis and the players met earlier today to discuss the current situation at the club. During the summit, De Laurentiis reiterated his faith in the team, congratulating the team on their performance in Liverpool, but also asking them to bounce back in Serie A too, especially considering the game schedule (Napoli will play against Bologna, Udinese, Parma and Sassuolo before Christmas).
The club had an pack schedule of meetings this morning: De Laurentiis and his son Edo, together with CEO Chiavelli, sporting director Giuntoli and the Head of Communication Lombardo discussed about the current situation with the players, Ancelotti and his staff for around an hour. The club reiterated that the fines following the events after the Salzburg game were necessary, but it also reassured that the club's will is to make this situation lesse tense.
The fines imposed upon the players, moreover, could be balanced by the bonuses that the players will get in case of qualification the the next round in the Champions League. Chairman De Laurentiis then asked to speak with Mertens - one of the leaders of the team - in person.
