Napoli has finished their preseason training at Dimaro and will now prepare for their European tournament that starts against Liverpool on Saturday in Dublin. In the meantime, Carlo Ancelotti awaits a new reinforcement to his current roster, namely in the shape of a new right-back.

After Sabaly fell through due to physical problems and Arias joined Atletico Madrid, the plan is to sign an important player at the position on loan. The first name on their list is Matteo Darmian of Manchester United. Napoli has made a strong push for him in the last few hours. The Red Devils are requesting an expensive paid loan of around 10 million euros with an option to purchase of an additional 10 to 12 million. Napoli will try to meet these demands as Darmian is the first option.

Another, new name is that of Serge Aurier. The Tottenham player would take up a non-EU spot, however, which would exclude the arrival of Ochoa for goalie. The azzurri would like to sign the Mexican goalie in order to complete that department along with Meret and Karzenis. The other name is Meunier, but PSG do not want to loan him out.

Those are the important players of international experience, but Napoli also have a Plan B. The names on that list are Kevin Malcuit of Lille and Lainer of Salzburg. The partenopei are working on other names as well and are working on different deals and then will close for the player that they consider most suitable in terms of fit, quality and price. As it stands, Darmian is the priority with Aurier and Meunier the other names for an expensive loan deal. Behind them is Plan B which consists of Malcuit and Lainer.
