Napoli hopes to win their final two games prior to the break and climb further up the table. Tomorrow Sarri’s team will play against a worthy adversary in Mihajlovic’s Torino. The Napoli coach spoke to the press about the match.
“2016 has been a positive year for Napoli: second place, record achievements in the Europa League group phase, and now qualification in the Champions League. Torino is dangerous, especially in attack. They are a team which has created problems for everyone."
Sarri also spoke about the Champions League draw for the first time: “It will be a pleasure to play against Real Madrid, but we are still not thinking about it. It is a prestigious match against world class opposition. It will be a beautiful experience. However, in the dressing room we have not discussed this at all.”
In a few hours there will be Juve-Roma: first against second. But the Napoli coach is not interested. “I do not think about it, and do not believe I will watch it. Chiriches is in a more advanced stage with regards to his tactical understanding. Maksimovic has important qualities, and will soon become a very important part of the team. But at the moment I do not know who I will let play. Gabbiadini has improved a lot; I will always do whatever is possible to bring out 100% from him.”
The deal for Pavoletti is already closed, but Sarri shows caution: “I do not speak when the market is open, or even when it is closed. Criticisms that have arrived from abroad? I do not give a [expletive], because I care only about results.”
