Napoli is in the market for a defender, and their main objective is very clear: Nikola Maksimovic, the centerback from Torino (class of ’90). A new offer is ready: 25 million euros plus bonuses and a percentage of future sale of the player (a clause also inserted by Torino in the recent Bruno Peres deal). Napoli is hoping to break down the wall set up by Torino’s president Cairo and close the deal in the near future. The new offer for Maksimovic is ready, but Napoli is not finished there: another name on their radar is Jeremy Toljan, a wingback (class of ’94) who plays for Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga. He is currently playing for Germany in the finals of the Olympic tournament in Rio, and Bayern Munich is also monitoring his situation. Initial contacts have been made: he could be Hysaj’s back-up. Napoli are chasing defenders, and working for Maksimovic and Toljan.
