Dries Mertens clause is expiring: PSG and Atletico are monitoring the situation. Those who want to buy the Belgian striker however, will have to deal with Napoli first.
Simone Verdi was the first gift from Aurelio De Laurentiis to Carlo Ancelotti, who now expects new reinforcements and confirmation of who will remain with Napoli.
Among the players who have contracts expiring this summer is Napoli attacker Dries Mertens. His buy-out clause expires on June 15th. Nobody has exercised it, the only team to think seriously about the player had been PSG but they have not taken any further steps to sign the player yet. Monitoring the situation is also Atletico Madrid.
For the moment, Mertens remains in Napoli, and who wants to buy the attacker will have to deal with the Azzurri. The company of President De Laurentiis, therefore for now, will be able to retain the Belgian.
