Napoli are in the market to reinforce their defence. They are focusing on that department above all. Napoli are looking at Brighton centre-back Leo Skiri Østigård and in addition to this are looking at Nicolò Casale, who is currently at Verona.
Casale is a defender born in 1998 and has accumulated 37 appearances in the Serie A in the 2021/2022 campaign for Verona. He managed to also get two assists.
Casale could be an alternative option to Østigård as the negotiations for the Norwegian have not concluded. However the purchase of him could also be a precautionary move, given the uncertainty about the future of Kalidou Koulibaly with his current deal ending in June 2023. Barcelona could move soon for Koulibaly.
On Casale, Lazio are also interested in the player, however it is on standby. Sarri likes the player too. Due to the deal being in standby, Napoli have swooped in and made first contacts with Verona: the next developments are to be seen
