After an experience in the la Liga and Premier League, Fernando Llorente is now back in Serie A after signing with Napoli on a Bosman deal. The Spanish striker discussed his decision to join the partenopei during his introductory press conference:”I waited for Napoli because they’re a great club, the second best in Italy in the past few years. I had a lot of desire to continue playing on a top team and still play in the Champions League. It wasn’t easy because I had a lot of offers from around the world, but in the end the most important thing was to be in an important league”
Llorente was asked about his former team Juventus:”It’s not easy to beat them, when I was at Sevilla I played against them, I scored and we won 1-0. I know what it means to beat them but one match is different than an entire league which is hard. They have two teams, a very strong bench. Scudetto? There’s a desire to win a trophy, but we can’t put pressure on ourselves, Juventus are the ones with the pressure”.
