Napoli’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis has been one of the protagonists of the summer window thanks to the Sarri to Chelsea saga as well as the Carlo Ancelotti hiring. De Laurentiis addressed the recent storylines about his club in an interview with Radio Kiss Kiss from the team’s summer retreat in Di Maro:”Suso-Callejon swap? No, I’m not aware of it. After the first few friendlies we’ll have more time to reflect on all the players Ancelotti doesn’t deem as optimal fits in Napoli’s playing style. Not because they aren’t good, but because they aren’t functional, we’ll see where we can place them”
De Laurentiis was also asked about the rumors he was offered Cristiano Ronaldo before he signed with Juventus:”Mendes and I talked about it, that is true. But I told him he had caught me by surprise since we needed 340 million. I told Mendes to leave me the first 250 million in revenues and I could have left him the other 100 million. But Mendes is someone who acts fast, and I realized I didn’t have enough time”
