Napoli are seriously interested in Kostas Manolas to replace Raul Albiol. The Spanish center back is on his way to Villarreal and the partenopei have reached an agreement in principle with the Greek defender. There are no issues with the marketing rights which is often a hurdle for De Laurentiis’ club as in the case with Lozano, who just like Manolas is represented by Raiola.
Napoli now need to convince Roma who are demanding the full €36 million exit clause, as an alternative the giallorossi would consider players in the deal. Napoli have offered Diawara, while Roma prefer Mertens mainly for financial reasons. Mario Rui, who previously played for Roma is also be8ng considered.
Milan remain in the background. The rossoneri’s new sporting director Ricky Massara has asked Manolas’ agents to wait, but it could be too late unless Milan pay the exit clause, on which they asked a discount a few days ago. Manolas is at the center of a significant transfer race: Napoli are currently in the lead.
