Colombian striker Luis Muriel had an immediate impact on Fiorentina since he joined the Viola from Sevilla in January. With his 5 goals in 7 games in Serie A, the former Sampdoria forward is proving crucial in Fiorentina's pursuit of an European spot and a win in the Coppa Italia.
"We are a young team, we give our best all the time and we are spurred by the love that our fans show us - Muriel said to Corriere dello Sport - We want to reach important goals in the league, but also in the Coppa Italia. The return leg in bErgamo against Atalanta [3-3 in the first leg in Florence] will be a whole different game from the game we lost in Serie A. We want to win, we are motivated to take our revenge".
The Colombian was also chased by Milan during the transfer window, but he decided to respect the commitment that he had made with the Viola: "I am a man of my word, I proved it when I decided to sign for Fiorentina. Milan and Fiorentina offered my the same terms, but I didn't make my decision by looking at the Serie A standings. I had given my word to Fiorentina and I honoured my word. I came here with the dream of playing well and convince the club to make the deal permanent through my good performances".
