The home loss to Frosinone yesterday has caused uncertainty concerning Stefano Pioli’s status at Fiorentina. The Tuscan club went so far as to issue a statement acknowledging they’re taking a few days to evaluate how to improve the team and Vincenzo Montella’s name came up as a possible replacement.
The former Milan manager was asked about the rumors:”I respect Pioli a lot and I believe he deserves to participate in the Coppa Italia semifinal which he earned with great performances. I’m pleased my name is being mentioned since I spent three beautiful years in Florence. But the club hasn’t contacted me, we left each other poorly awhile back. Then I had a chance to talk and clarify”.
