After a distinguished career in Serie A where he played for Inter, Milan and Juventus Andrea Pirlo is ready to start his third season in MLS. The Italian midfielder joined his teammate David Villa in a press conference, the first he handled in English. Pirlo started by addressing the speculation he'll retire after this year:"I don't know if it will be my last season. When it's time I'll decide in the future. Now I'm older that I was a few years ago" Pirlo was asked about his team's struggles in matches away from Yankee Stadium:"We are happy to play in our stadium in front of our fans, but it's important to play good away"
In closing Pirlo was fielded a question on his new teammate Yangel Herrera and he admitted he was impressed with what he’s seen from the Venezuelan midfielder so far:"Yange is a good young player – he arrived ten days ago – he’s new and he needs to improve, to learn the tactical work of a new coach. We want to win for New York City together.”
