Andrea Mancini is ready to start the next chapter of his career in the United States. The striker has signed with DC United, after previously playing in Hungary. Andrea is the son of Inter coach Roberto Mancini, who also had experiences abroad in England and Turkey. This is what Andrea Mancini had to say about his decision to play in the United States:"It was practically a done deal in January- he told GianlucaDiMarzio.com- but we waited until today to make it official for bureaucratic reasons. I've been here since January 23rd and since then I have been practicing with the team. I picked this league and team to have a new life and football experience"

After playing at Honved and Haladas, Mancini has picked the United States:"Here they play a very different style of football compared to Europe: there is a lot of focus on the phsycal aspect. In some ways it reminds me of the style of the Premier League, I still have a lot to learn but the football movement in America is in constant growth in every way" Mancini signed the contract today, he will be at DC United for the next two seasons:"I have an option for the third year, but now I just want to think about the present and what I have to do right away to contribute. We have just one designated player and we are a team based on the collective"

Mancini has been intrigued with the possibility of playing in MLS for awhile:"Back in October when my agent Nicola Giuliani presented this possibility I didn't have to think twice. And now I thank him even more for opening the door to a reality I may have not previously considered" Because of the timing of the signing, Mancini will not be eligible to play against the Los Angeles Galaxy, but he's getting ready for his first minutes and goals at DC United.
