The Minister of Sport, Vincenzo Spadafora, responded to the statements made by Damiano Tommasi, president of the AIC, regarding the possible suspension of the Serie A season.
"I share the statements of Damiano Tommasi, President of the Italian Players Association, and I'm united with his request. It doesn't make sense in this moment, while we ask enormous sacrifices to the citizens to maintain the diffusion of the virus, putting our players' health at risk, same with the referees, the trainers, the fans that surely want to watch the matches, only to not temporarily suspend the season. Other Federations have wisely chosen to stop for the next days. I believe that it is the duty of the president of FIGC, Gravina, to take responsibility for this decision before the first case of the virus hits."
