After reaching 15 goals in a single season for three consecutive seasons, current Inter captain Mauro Icardi is proving himself to be a vital player for his team. His efforts have not gone unnoticed, as former Inter striker Diego Milito had something to say about him in an interview with Il Corriere dello Sport:
“I’m very happy Icardi has reached the same amount of goals as me, both for him and the club. It was inevitable: I’ve always considered him a great striker. I wish him the best, hopefully he can win all there is with Inter. When he arrived, us older Argentines gave him some advice, but honestly he probably didn’t need any.”
Will we be seeing Diego Milito in Italy once again soon?: “A return to Italy? In the future, why not…For now I’m enjoying my time with the family. Will I bring Messi with me? I think it’s difficult to see Leo leave Barcelona, but dreaming is free and sometimes dreams come true. Zanetti has an incredible relationship with him, so if anyone can convince Messi to join Inter, it’s Zanetti”.
