Deapite a substantial rash of injuries last fall, Milan are competing for a Champions League spot. One of the rossoneri’s signature players Suso spoke to Sky Sport about the team’s recent form:”We are going through a positive period, the group bounced back well from the injuries. All teams struggle when they lose numerous players, but we obtained excellent results. In the late matches maybe our style wasn’t that beautiful but we were competitive, compact and united. Milan has to always be in the Champions League, it’s more of an objective than a dream, our history says we must play in it”
Suso described his current coach Rino Gattuso:”He’s very important for the team, he gave me a lot and I also gave him a lot. We had moments of difficulty, but he was able to keep the level of the team very high. The change in ownership was also important, it’s not easy when in three years you change that three times, you can’t get balance”
Suso was asked about his new teammates:”Anyone who arrives here is greeted very well at Milan, even those who play less. Paqueta and Piatek are great players, they’ll help us a lot. But we need to be patient, many started strong before slowing down”
