A return to Juventus for Leonardo Bonucci would be unbelievable, a scenario that seemed unthinkable just a short time ago, but one that is now a hypothesis in this transfer market. It has been born by the desire of the player: Bonucci has given messages to the bianconeri in the past few weeks. On the Juventus side of things, the they could reunite with their former defender due to the need to sell Gonzalo Higuain. Chelsea, at the moment are not accelerating or insisting for Pipita, unlike Milan who have a real concrete interest in the Argentine number 9. It was an idea born from Milan's previous leadership, but that they have continued even through the organizational changes. The interest has been confirmed during a meeting between Leonardo and Marotta.
This is the premises, and now the ball is in Milan's court. If they seriously go after Higuain and agree to a price tag with Juventus and the player on his wages, then Bonucci could be inserted into the deal. Juventus would make the deal happen financially by likely also selling one of their current central defenders, likely Rugani or Caldara.
An operation that would only result in Bonucci's return to Juventus, apart from any involvement of Higuain, at the moment is much more complicated. This is why the two clubs will meet soon and really discuss the feasibility of the operation, after their initial conversation. It is a fluid situation that is ongoing, but one thing is for certain: Bonucci would like to wear the Juventus shirt once more.
