After signing his contract, Stefano Pioli was introduced as Milan's new manager. The former Lazio, Inter and Fiorentina coach hosted a press conference along with the rossoneri's directors Maldini, Boban, Massara and Gazidis, he started off by discussing his predecessor Giampaolo:"Marco is an excellent manager but he has ideas and philosophies that are different from mine. We need to understand where we are starting from. Marco certainly worked well, I'll find a team with a culture of work.
Pioli explained what his priorities will be:" I would like to play offensive minded football, if these players are at Milan they have the technical and mental ability to do it. I have three principles: ideas, intensity and courage"
Giampaolo was asked about the fact he grew up as an Inter fan:"The past is the past. I used to be a young chubby kid with hair and now I'm a bald man with a beard. I want to be judged for what I do now, not when I was a kid without clear ideas. We are Milan and will fight like Milan to obtain the best results".
