At the end of a friendly between Milan and Swiss side Chiasso, coach Vincenzo Montella was interviewed by Sky Sport. Montella spoke about Riccardo Montolivo, now sidelined for around six months with an ACL injury: "We are all very upset about this news, he was finding good form and for us he's nearly irreplaceable. It's a significant loss for us tactically and, even more, a blow to our mindsets since he's our captain. Yesterday was a particularly unfortunate day, there was much sadness and even dismay. Consequences? I'm not thinking about changing the formation yet." Montella also mentioned a few players and thoughts leading up to the upcoming Chievo match: "They are even with us in the table, so it means we're meeting a strong team who's good at making their opponents play poorly. Sosa? We are trying several ways to get him integrated in the league. Locatelli? He'll be used sparingly, not rushed in." Finally, the coach commented on Paolo Maldini and his role offered at Milan: "I don't know, I don't talk about the future, I deal only with the directors here now. But, from what I know of him, Paolo is an extraordinary person."
