The focus for Milan is currently on their Europa League fixture against Rijeka, but after the Sampdoria match there were little rumblings about the future of Vincenzo Montella. The topic has returned today due to Carlo Ancelotti's exit from Bayern Munich, as curiosity to whether he can return to the rossoneri arises. This idea was shot down by Milan's director of sport Mirabelli, who spoke to Sky Sport 24 before the Europa League match, "On a human and sporting level I am sorry for Ancelotti, who is proven to be one of the best managers in the world. We have, however, a manager who is younger but also a very good coach like him, and he has our full confidence and support. We are holding onto Montella tightly, and the project will go forward with him until the end."
