The meeting that Milan held with Jean-Clair Todibo and his agent in Barcelona was positive, as sporting director Massara, who was this morning in Milanello, returned to Italy with the player's approval to the transfer to the rossoneri. The club will now continue the negotiations with Barcelona over a transfer form that could satisfy all the parties involved in the deal and the intermediary are already working towards a solution.
The parties are negotiationg over a loan deal with option to buy with a buy-back clause to be included in the transfer contract. This is the preferred form by both the clubs and the player, as Milan would have the possibility to buy the player outright, should he perform during his loan spell at San Siro, whilst Barcelona could have the opportunity to buy the defender back in case he decided to return to Spain. The will of the player is crucial, as the Frenchman consider himself at Barcelona's level and would consider a failure leaving the blaugrana in such fashion.
In the next few hours the parties will continue their conversations in order to come to a positive consclusion to the deal that seems to be on the right tracks for Milan after the Massara's blitz in Barcelona on Friday. Milan are adamant that they are not interested in a deal without option to buy, that is why Barcelona are now more open to accept the terms submitted by the rossoneri. Barcelona will now talk to the player and explain that the club doesn't not want to get rid of him but they want to give the player an opportunity to show his value and play regularly in a different club as they intend to understand if he will continue his career with Milan or with Barcelona. Milan expect an answer in a few days, as they would have to move on to different targets should the deal collapse.
