Marco Giampaolo helped shepherd Milan to safety in their 2-1 victory away to Genoa. The potentially game-tying penalty by Schöne was saved by Pepe Reina, and may have saved Giampaolo from dismissal from the team. The coach responded to the situation after the match, speaking to the media:
