After an unsuccessful spell of games, Milan is set to return to Serie A action on Saturday against Genoa. Coach Marco Giampaolo discussed his team's bad form so far in the pre-match press conference:
"Tmorrow it's an important game for Milan. We don't have to focus on the indvidualities but on the collective. Defeats can damage the moral of the players, however it's not true that they don't care. We analysed our mistakes, we had a confrontation. After four defeats in six games, it's normal ttìhat everything looks bad. We have to be balanced, I don't think that now it's the time to give defintive judgements. I know that the team has a lot of room for improvement, especially on the mental side".
The former Sampdoria boss was then asked about the words of Milan's captain Romagnoli, who said that he would give his life for the coach: "The players have to give their lives for the shirt, not for me. The team believed and believes in my ideas. We didn't expect to be in a situation like that, but now we have to get out of it. Piatek? Milan can't do without thier most prolific striker of last season. If Piatek doesn't score, who will? We can't play without our top goalscorer, he has to play, suffer and take his responsibilities", concluded Giampaolo.
