Milan, Gazidis: "We rescued the club from the brink of bankruptcy"

During the presentation of new Milan coach Stefano Pioli, the CEO of the rossoneri Ivan Gazidis also spoke to the press about the club's moves. Gazidis gave his remarks in English, noting he was still learning Italian. "I thank Giampaolo, a good man, great coach. The decision was made together for the best of the club. We understand the frustration of the fans. We are undertaking a process, we are faced with a reality that we can't ignore: we saved the club from the brink of bankruptcy and we are working every day to bring it back to the highest level. We removed the debt that forced us out of European competition. It would be more simple to hide the truth, but we arrived to save Milan from insolvency that would have sent it to Serie D. We've made errors but we're correcting them."
