After the scoreless draw against Lazio in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final, Milan prepare to face Sassuolo at San Siro. The Rossoneri coach Gennaro Gattuso previewed the match and deiscussed the situation of some of the players in the team in the pre-match press conference: "I know Roberto De Zerbi well. He has good players that understand his style of play. Sassuolo are organized and if you do not prepare the game well they will punish you. We have to improve technically"
"Suso? Right now he is not a problem for me nor the team. - continued the coach - He has the necessary
qualities to contribute to the team and should think of nothing else
right now. It is normal to go through a gray phase sometimes, it
happens . Cutrone? He should work with enthusiasm and think of just working hard. He is
penalized not by Piątek's presence and when he is not happy I believe it
stimulates him even more. Hard work always pays off in the long run".
Gattuso was also asked about the Romagnoli situation amidst of rumours linking him to a move to big clubs in the summer: "He is happy and proud to be here and to be the captain the team. He renewed his contract eight months ago and is
fundamental for us. It is rewarding to see big teams interested in our
players but Romagnoli is happy to be here."
Finally, the coach commented on the season of André Silva, on loan to Sevilla from the Rossoneri: "He can still improve a lot, we have to respect him. I can't tell if I would take him back, you should ask that to the directors. I can say that he has showed some interesting things, despite not playing consistently as a starter".
