Milan and Inter approach the derby with a completely opposite mood and form. The Nerazzurri got knocked out of the Europa League and in the last few games they have seen the Rossoneri overtake them in third place. Milan's coach Gennaro Gattuso previewed this special matchup in the pre-match press conference: "I want my boys to play with determination and passion. San Siro will be packed tomorrow and we have to be wary of Inter so as not to underestimate the game. e have a lot at stake other than the three points, what worries me the
most is the aftermath of the match. I do not know if it's the most
important fixture for us this season but there are other 13 games to
play for. We have to continue to believe in our objective with the aim of clinching a Champions League spot".
Gattuso also focused on the opposition: "Inter press high up the field, they put us under pressure in the away leg.
Tomorrow will be similar, we need to play with courage and clear our
mind. We must avoid to fall in the trap that it will be an easy game bacause Inter are struggling. We should respect Inter, they can be very dangerous. Spalletti? t the end of the day, results determine the faith of a coach. I have
never thought about my situation, our focus has been on training hard
during the week. Icardi? The way I see it, even the best player in the world should respect his
teammates. Respect for players and those who represent them is
fundamental: the locker room is sacred, I appreciate when my players
speak their mind in person"
