Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso spoke to Sky Sport after the rossonero's 3-0 victory over Cagliari, putting the team in fourth place and the Champions League zone.
"We were great today because we played a good type of football, I didn't like the behavior of those who got too low in the middle of the pitch, we need to take the pitch. But I've been happy with this squad for some time, we had some luck but it was a good match. To remain at this level requires desire, don't think individually but in a collective manner. We need to put the team first. Milan has been out of the Champions race come spring time, but we need to arrive at the finish line playing for this goal. In the first 7-8 matches we played an incredible football, now for a few matches we've began to play like we want to, of those levels. Our secret is two phases, if we keep players high we suffer because we can't allow ourselves to."
Gattuso then spoke on Calhanoglu, who showed great skill even though he was unlucky to not score: "I expect more from Calhanoglu because he has the skills. Today he played well after several games, but we need to see other things. He assimilated well last year to the fans, he's not a true outside attacker but does all the phases with high quality."
