After the goalless draw against Bologna, Milan are set to face another important game in the race to reach a Champions League spot as the Rossoneri will battle against Fiorentina at San Siro in the matchday 17 of Serie A.

Coach Gennaro Gattuso adressed many topics in the pre-match press conference, starting from the rumors of a possible swap deal between his club and Chelsea, involving the strikers Gonzalo Higuain and Alvaro Morata: "I hold on to Higuain. No disrespect to your [the journalists] work but as far as I know Chelsea haven't bought any over-30 players in the last few years. It is normal that on a mental level Higuain feels the absence of his goals and is not in a positive moment. We do not discuss about any other aspect, our focus is on helping him return to his scoring ways. I treasure him a lot, our problem is not Higuain. We have to put our players in a condition to play well. As at now we are struggling with our midfielders who cover the pitch but are unable to supply quality balls forward."

The Rossoneri coach also discussed their next opponent, Pioli's Fiorentina: "We play against a formidable team technically, we have to be good at closing down the spaces and only this way can we beat Fiorentina tomorrow. I am sure we will do a lot more against Fiorentina, I noticed that when it is time to make the crucial step forward we lack the necessary conviction. My job is to improve on this aspect. Montolivo and Calhanoglu in midfield? Let's see "

Finally, Gattuso talked about the January transfer window: "I think we will bring in a couple of players. Definitely a striker, that can play both centrally and on the wing and then we will see. If someone leaves, we could add a reinforcement to the midfield".
