After the meeting held last week with CEO Ivan Gazidis, German coach Ralf Rangnick is getting closer to becoming Milan's coach for next season. With a managerial change on the cards, the Rossoneri are already planning the future and keeping an eye on potential targets for the next transfer window.
For the winger role, Milan have eyed Werder Bremen's Milot Rashica. The Kosovar, born in 1996, has become a key player of the Bundesliga side since joining in January 2018 from Vitesse. The left winger has a 16-million release clause in his contract that could be activated, should Werder Bremen, which currently sit 16th in the Bundesliga table, get relegated at the end of the season. Should Werder avoid the drop and stay in the Bundesliga, Rashica's price would be of €30 million. Napoli are also interested in the winger, as well as a plethora of Bundesliga sides, however Milan are keeping a close ey on the situation.
For the defence, the Rossoneri are also looking at RB Leipzig Dayot Upamecano, who could be a young option at centre-back and a player that Rangnick knows well. The Frenchman, however, is in the radar of several big club across Europe.
Finally, the Rossoneri are also considering former Roma's striker Patrik Schick. The Czech international, who has scored ten goals this seasons during his loan spell Leipzig, will not stay at his current club as Leipzig have decided not to activate their option to buy, with Milan keeping an eye on him.
