Milan’s main goals this summer are to give Rino Gattuso upgrades at the striker position and in the midfield. Directors Fassone and Mirabelli are looking for an attacker who can guarantee twenty goals a season, they made an approach for Edin Dzeko but because this deal would be rather complicated to get past the finish line they are looking elsewhere. Last summer’s top target Andrea Belotti’s stock has fallen after a difficult season at Torino, so that leaves us with Alvaro Morata and Ciro Immobile. The Spanish striker wants to return to Italy after playing for Real Madrid and Chelsea, but because Juventus are also interested in bringing him back, Milan face some tough competition. The less complicated option remains Ciro Immobile, the striker’s attributes fit Gattuso’s style and his wages are considerably lower than other prolific strikers. Lazio however intend to keep Immobile, so President Lotito is expected to be obstacle- in any event Immobile is Milan’s top choice.
For the midfield Jordan Veretout has become the top target. The Fiorentina player has excelled in his first season in Italy, and his transfer fee is expected to be within Milan’s range. On the other hand landing Marouane Fellaini will be rather difficult seen that’s currently demanding 10 million in annual wages. Milan are ready to get to work to improve Gattuso’s squad.
