Milan is determined to get a jump start on the transfer window in order to have most of their squad assembled by the beginning of the summer retreat. After essentially completing the deal for defender Mateo Musacchio, sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli is now focused on the midfield with Frank Kessie' as his primary target. Today he's expected to meet with the Atalanta player's agent George Atangana.
Milan intend to formalize their offer of €2.2 million net of taxes per season on a five year deal to defeat Roma in the race. The giallorossi have offered Kessie's camp substantially less (€1.2 million a season) but have an agreement with Atalanta for a transfer fee of €28 million plus bonuses. Milan's plan is to reach an agreement with the player first to use it as leverage when negotiating with Atalanta. The rossoneri are determined to complete the first few deals under their new Chinese ownership.
