Milan winger Samu Castillejo had become a regular starter for the Rossoneri under Pioli before the league stopped because of the Coronavirus emergency. The Spaniard commented on the situation and revealed his hopes for the future in an interview with Sky Sport: "I have been training every day, the club sent us a training schedule. Pioli? He is the only coach that gave me some playing time, but there's hard work behind that. That is his choice to make, but it's up to the players to be prepared and overcome the bad moments. Pioli is a great coach and we hope that he stays at the club for next season too"
Castillejo then touched upon the Coronavirus pandemic that has hit Italy and is becoming more and more serious in his country too: "I stayed in Italy because I didn't want to put my family at risk. There were a lot of people already infected here. Ater Italy, Spain is the European country that has had been hit by the virus. We all hope that everything goes back to normal as soon as possible. When it happens, I want to see San Siro packed with fans, their love and their support".
